SusieV Posted November 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2017 I just wanted to check and see if anyone knew if the new rule about nonrefundable deposits will also apply to Canadians. In the past this has been illegal because of our laws and I didn't know if we are able to continue to make refundable deposits or if they've found a way to skirt the law. I've understood this to be a certain promotional price under which you can book ... and there is other pricing available that doesn't have a non-refundable deposit. I can't say for sure but others have reported this.
SusieV Posted November 2, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Right, but would that mean Canadians aren't allowed to book that rate, or that they have to make it refundable to Canadians?
Rare Cruise Junky Posted November 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2017 HAL & Princess both have nonrefundable deposit promos that apply to Canadians.
SusieV Posted November 2, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Really? How do they get away with that under the rules that anything we pay for can't expire or be nonrefundable? They had to specifically allow Canadian onboard bookings to be refundable when that change came out, I recall.
