landlady1952 Posted November 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Received Premier Offer today for a cruise I am currently booked on as Early Saver. Can I call Carnival to switch. Not near final payment yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rare 1025cruise Posted November 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I believe it will be considered a cancellation/rebook, so whatever penalties apply for Early Saver will probably kick in.
firemanbobswife Posted November 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2017 You are able to price match so there shouldn’t be any penalty. You’ll have to talk to Carnival.
evandbob Posted November 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2017 We have a similar situation to the OP's, with a twist. I just noticed that our Horizon May sailing is now a premier casino cruise. However, the rates aren't showing our cabin type (spa balcony) as being available under the casino fare. We booked early saver, and have enjoyed 4 price drops already. When I checked pricing yesterday, Carnival's web site had 6 spa balconies available. Guess I'll be calling the Diamond or Casino Desk for an answer. landlady1952 Posted November 6, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 6, 2017 That’s the exact cruise I am talking about. We had regular balcony and just changed. $200 cheaper since Friday and now Premier benefits too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
springs741 Posted November 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2017 This has been my experience as recent as the last 6 months. Booked on a cruise, announced as a premier. I was able to change over to a premier rate and get the benefits. It was ES and yes I had to pay the $50 each but so worth it to get the cash and lower rate. Second time: Booked on a cruise announced as a premier. My category was sold out. So no rate change but the casino was willing to extend the benefits of premier. I seem to have a knack for picking cruises that become premiers. It has happened to me several times.
landlady1952 Posted November 6, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Just changed mine. No penalty. And $212 cheaper. I’m a happy camper. Thanks everyone for your comments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
