Rare cbr663 Posted November 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Great to read that some of the new concepts are being rolled out on the older ships. It was disappointing to read of banged up furniture and stained bedding though. This is enough to keep us away from this ship.
Rare Btimmer Posted November 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2017 We were recently on the Oosterdam on a one week Alaska cruise (we had sailed on it a few years earlier), and we found it to be in fine shape with no issues with the bedding or furniture. The Sel de Mer was fabulous and we really enjoyed the Billboard Online and even the BBKing. The reviewer commented about the lack of Karaoke; and we've found that karaoke is pretty much gone on HAL ships. We were recently on the Harmony of the Seas, and it was a happening event for that younger age demographic. Some of the singers were really good. cmdchiefthom Posted December 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2017 The comments make me wonder if I made a mistake booking the Oosterdam for two weeks in 2019, after an absence from HAL ships since 2013. I sort of missed HAL after trying multiple NCL ships, and thought I'd try it again. I won't change my mind about the booking, I just hope HAL pays attention to what today's passengers want to see aboard ship.;)
Rare Btimmer Posted December 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 7, 2017 I’d go back on the Oosterdam with no hesitation if the price and itinerary were agreeable to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
