lasnev Posted November 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Good Morning to all! I am looking at a cruise that I really want to do, but there is a decent chance that I wouldn't be able to go. What is the best way to book where I would get most or all my money credited towards a future cruise up to final payment? I truly tried to figure it out myself but I know there is someone out there with all the knowledge:D I really appreciate any help. Thanks, Mary
firemanbobswife Posted November 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2017 If you book Past Guest or another rate that doesn’t have penalties for cancellations/changes you will get all of your money back refunded to the original form of payment. Early Saver will have the funds minus $50 per person held for a future cruise. I would go with a fully refundable rate.
deliver42 Posted November 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Just don't use the Early Saver rate, or else you'll be charged $50.00 per person, and have a credit for a future cruise for 2 years.

lasnev Posted November 24, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted November 24, 2017 I noticed that past guest is a little more per person. Do you think it would be better booking early saver if you intend to use gift cards as you would only get credit back anyway? Is $50 dollars all you would lose if you cancel. Are there other benefits for using past guest rate? Thanks again
firemanbobswife Posted November 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2017 If there is any chance I might need to change dates or move people around, I would pay the little bit extra for PG. I lost $100 once when we switched cruises and learned my lesson. That would eat up any savings you got from buying $1000 worth of gift cards if there were only 2 of you.
