Carnival Miracle. No love for this ship by anyone?

I sailed on her last March and again on November 11th of this year. The ship itself is in decent shape but could use a good dry dock. However, the crew is great, dining room staff does a great job and the food in MDR and Lido is quite good. It seemed like the quality and freshness in the Lido had improved from March to November. It is a fun ship and I personally love all the Spirit class ships. They are just the right size.

The only problem we had was that our Vista Suite, 6329, on our November cruise, was a great disappointment. I have been in Vista Suites on Spirit, Legend and Pride so I know what to expect. The problems were in overall upkeep. The carpets were filthy and extremely stained. It took five minutes for my white socks to become brown on the bottom. The balcony was also dirty and the chairs were full of fresh and ground in bird droppings. Also, the linens smelled of B.O. It wasn't B.O but the detergent they were now using and they had many complaints about it. I immediately made a trip to Guest Services and told them about the issues. The Head Housekeeper met me back in the cabin and apologized for the issues and the chairs were cleaned and we received "brand new" sheets for the bed. The carpet was vacuumed but not shampooed. The Head Housekeeper said it was going to be changed the following week. That did me a lot of good. I left feeling like I spent a great deal of money just to be disappointed.

I know this issue was isolated and it won't happen to you. Enjoy the cruise and say hi to Roxanne (Assistant Maitre D) and Jocelyn, at the casino bar. They really went out of their way to make it a great cruise.

Take care,

Mike

I have been trying to hold out, but it looks like Carnival Miracle doesnt get a lotta love on this thread.

We are taking the New Years Eve Cruise on December 30th.

Has anybody been on the this ship lately?

What kinda condition is it in? and what should we expect for New Years eve

Thanks all!!

I got sucked into the hoopla of this ship when it was being built. There was some webpage actually reporting on its progress.

Having sailed on the other three Spirit ships by then, somehow I was disappointed in the ships themes. Such a good concept that seemed to fall flat.

But it was still a Spirit class ship. Liked it, but preferred the decor of the Pride and the Legend so much better.
