zhangf Posted December 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2017 We will visit Antigua on 26th Dec...I checked the weather forecast it shows the temperature will be 82F...is this too cold to be staying on Beach and swim in ocean? We usually go Caribbean islands in summer so don't have experience in the winter ...
RMH Posted December 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2017 The water temperature in not much different in December than it is in July. It will be between 80 and 82 F in December and between 82 and 84 F in July. Whether or not that is too cold is up to you, but I say HECK NO. WeLoveFood Posted December 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2017 It depends on your point of reference. If you are living in a cold climate and you come to Antigua, it will be perfect. If you live here in Antigua, then you might consider it a bit cool. Given how most visitors enjoy swimming this time of year, I expect that you will be fine. mollyeilis Posted December 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2017 It’ll be fine. We were there a year ago and people were enjoying the water just fine. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Yes, it should be just fine for you. Perhaps you should take a quick dip before you leave to compare. ;)

bouhunter Posted January 8, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Winter, summer, no difference. Gotta' love the Caribbean:p
blue_water Posted January 9, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 9, 2018 The only concern would be sea swells that are more common during winter months as a result of storms. The swells can swallow up some beaches and create dangerous rip tides so you just need to be aware of that. But you will probably enjoy beautiful beaches and calm water!
