Promenade vs Atrium

Recommended Posts

Pros and cons for both I guess. I prefer relaxing in an atrium with a drink and a string quartet. DW likes to browse the shops in the promenade. What's the trend?

On Royal Caribbean ships, that area is called the Centrum.

Vision class and Radiance class ships (and Majesty and Empress) have a Centrum.

Voyager class, Freedom class and Oasis class ships have a Royal Promenade.

Quantum class ships have a Royal Esplanade.

When a ship has a Centrum, the shops are located off that central area. They aren't far.

So, the trend is towards having the shops front and center.

Quantum class is sort of half and half - there are SOME shops right in the middle, but others are down the corridors, off-center.

Merion - got to play it several years ago - love the baskets instead of flags. Played Pine Valley the same trip.

Almost said Atrium/Centrum just couldn't recall which it was.:)
