NikkiDee-Canada Posted December 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2017 I hope this is ok to post! We are from Ottawa and travelling to Boston in April for the Norwegian Dawn cruise to Bermuda. We are hoping to drive down the day before, and are trying to find a hotel we can park the car at for the week. We did this in Syracuse for our recent cruise out of NY, and were able to keep the car there for free for the week, as we had a room booked for the beginning and end of our cruise. We've never been to Boston, and are having a hard time finding a hotel with availability. Any thoughts?

Rare ColeThornton Posted December 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Fantastic, thanks. I knew there must be a board for these kinds of questions! You'll probably get a few answers here also but on that forum it is cruisers from all the lines that participate. Lots of helpful info.

willise Posted December 29, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2017 We have always driven from Canada to Manchester, NH and stayed there the night before the cruise. Then it's a quick 40 minutes or so to the cruise port and we park in the garage at the terminal. I've always found the hotels in Manchester to be significantly less expensive than those in Boston. newmexicoNita Posted December 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2017 for anyone driving in, yes, there are near by cities less expensive, but for those flying in, they have no choice. We will be doing this in early May. I think we are taking an extra day, so will have 2 days in Boston to experience the city a little. Right now we are planning on staying downtown, looking at the Boston Backbay Hilton. LadyShiva Posted December 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2017 Hyatt Regency by BOS has an excellent view, but lousy in-house food options and service. Boston Millenium has wonderful service, but older furnishings in the rooms. Wonderful location to roam about, with the metro just steps away. Valet parking is expensive, though. Some rooms overlook Faneuil Hall. Watch their website for specials. Airport hotels are across the bay, and priced more reasonably. Hilton and Marriott options abound in that region; jump on Google Maps and look around via a hotel search using "Nearby" searches.
