Majesty of the Seas drydock.

Drydock time is expensive and high demand, once they are done with the stuff under the waterline but not the entire contracted work they dock the ship back in the water. It could just be inspections or finishing touches in the Engine Room etc.

Meanwhile, they could be setting up the dry dock for the next ship.

:) Thank you!

I would love to hear your thoughts (and pictures!)after your cruise. We are looking to book a trip on her for next January...but waiting to hear if she is refurbished and how so....

In much appreciation!:D

I've tried to find out from several different sources what's going to be done to the MJ, with no success. To date, there have been no references to any changes for dining options, nor upgrades, nor enhancements for our March 2nd. sailing.

If no news is good news, then I'm guessing because nothing has been announced regarding improvements, that whatever is going to be done will likely be cosmetic and/or mechanical in nature.

Since we'll be among the first pax to sail on her after the dry dock, If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to report back here after our cruise.

UPDATE: Good news for us going on the MJ March 2nd (and subsequent) sailings.

The Majesty of the Seas has left the Grand Bahama Shipyard and is under power in open waters. Could be they're shaking her down, or she's heading back to Port Canaveral. Only time will tell, but she is underway and out to sea.

Interesting, I wonder if she will sit at PC with more work being done until the next cruise on Friday.

If I were to hazard a guess, when she's arrives tomorrow, they will be boarding crew, loading provisions and any completing any final touch-ups. I hope.

Free cruise for Central Florida Pinnacles

Just kidding. Good place to watch rocket launch tomorrow night

I don't think it can ever get better than the shuttle launch we saw on changeover day on a Monarch B2B.

Fingers crossed that someone on the sailing today fills us all in on any visible changes

On board her now. No major changes. New carpet and paint. Some new furniture, etc. She has that new ship smell. For those interested in the deck 9 rumors, no changes were made. The crew is happy to be back at work. That's all for now. More after I talk to more crew and when we get to Nassau.

What were deck 9 rumours? Isn't that mainly cabins

Wasn't that the deck where the post-drydock deckplans were showing different size staterooms than the pre-drydock deckplans?

I was hoping for the Ultimate Abyss, maybe a Flowrider, a zipline, bumber cars or iFly during dry dock. Now I have no idea where they would put any of these items, but it'd make Majesty pretty cool. And it's not my job to figure out where they would go.

I guess maybe we can just settle for parasailing off the back.

(For those in CruiseCritic that miss sarcasm, this post is full of it. I realize there is no possiblity for these items on Majesty, well except the parasailing, that'd be something I'd be interested in them investigating.)

Yep. Only a rumor. I walked the deck. The only changes are new carpet, paint and wall coverings.

Kind of like the blimp they tested on Oasis. It didn't end well. 😱

I did notice the ugly rock wall us still there. What a shame.

I'm on her on 50 days. Were changes updated to the decor in the rooms? I have an interior (because I'm have kids, so I'm poor). I'd be thrilled if they decided to add Virtual Balconies, but I'm guessing they probably didn't.

The only changes the pax can see are cosmetic. FYI: Johnny Rockets cover charge is $9.95 + grats. No 20% discount coupons offered on this cruise. Oh well, I didn't need to eat another burger anyway.

Along with parasailing of the back, maybe some water skiing too... Reel them all in...
