Long Beach hotel recommendation with free transfers

Can someone recommend a hotel in Long Beach that has free transfers from Long Beach Airport and to the San Pedro Pier?

I imagine there are many hotels with free airport transfers but not so sure about pier transfers.

We are a group of four. We need two rooms or perhaps a suite with two bedrooms.

It is 16 miles from LGB airport to the pier in San Pedro. Since you want to stay in Long Beach, I will assume you want to stay in the good area of Long Beach—near the Aquarium, Queen Mary and all the restaurants and shopping (The only hotels with even an airport shuttle are those near LGB and there is nothing else there). Nobody has a really “free” shuttle, especially to San Pedro—though you might find a hotel clear on the eastern side of Long Beach that has a shuttle to the Carnival pier and you may get them to extend that to San Pedro—but it will really just be blended into the price and you won’t be in the prime tourist part of Long Beach.

So, get over the idea of “free shuttles” and just assume the cost of shuttles or Uber will be part of your cost.

I have a “short list” of where to stay in Long Beach:

Best hotels and location are...Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric at the Pike, Renaissance and Westin. These are first class hotels in the heart of the tourist zone. Close walking distance to everything in Long Beach. The next group would be the Hilton, the Maya Doubletree and the Residence Inn Downtown. The Hilton is a couple of blocks west of perfect but still walkable. The other two are across the channel near the Queen Mary and Carnival Terminal...But there is a free shuttle that crosses the bridge from the Maya into Downtown (Look for or ask for the Carnival rate at the Maya—they don’t really care if you are on Carnival or not).

After those groups, the Queen Mary has a hotel (cool, but think old and not really first rate as a hotel) and there’s a Best Western Convention Center that’s a little east of perfect (do not confuse this with the BW north of Downtown—that one is in a scuzzy area),

You will need a shuttle or Uber from LGB to your hotel and another from hotel to San Pedro for your cruise. It’s okay...it’s just part of the cost...

Enjoy your stay...
