Inside family rooms on bliss?

We’re booking an inside family room on the Bliss for our first cruise and I hate to just guess wildly at what a good spot would be. We have two five year olds so near stairs would probably be good. It looks like most of the available ones are are deck 12. Any advice?

No one really has a clue.... its not finished yet. Just pick something between two decks of cabins and avoid white blank spaces, you should be fine. If you get close to the kids club area that would be a bonus.

I didn’t know about the blank white spaces so that’s good to know. Anyone is guessing but guess from people who’ve actually been on ships are likely to be better informed than mine. It’s making me a little nuts to be making plans on something that not even in existence yet.

While the BLISS is yet to be afloat - NCL does have the deck plans out LINK:

https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Norwegian-Bliss

Click on deck 13 or 14 and look midship forward to the grey inside cabins

sort of standing on end. These should be sideways inside cabins that give

just a bit more room with the entrance on the side of a rectangle instead of

on the narrow end.

These cabins are however not convenient to the stairs or elevators.

The childrens "Splash Academy" is to be located on deck 5 midship starboard.

Look the deck plan over - note that the game plan is to have more Balcony cabins

and fewer inside cabins (IC) and ocean views (OV). With this in mind book

your inside cabin with prime location early on.

Your deck 12 options are fine but these cabins are all end entrance IC.

In reference to those WHITE SPACES and voids you see this is ships

engineering space and crew serve (cabin steward storage work areas).

The areas you see with a bold rectangle with an "X" marked in it are

elevators - if you see a blank white space near there it is perhaps crew

elevators. The hash mark areas near elevators are stairs. When using

the deck plan scheme line up the elevators (or stairs) to see what is

a deck above or below you. On deck 12 forward the dark blue and teal

green cabins are Studios and should not be confused with insides.

Cabins with a small white square are handicap fitted and generally

have more space for maneuvering wheelchairs and scooters. These

cabins can be booked but you maybe asked to move for a HC psgr.

Good that you are planning early for your cabin selection to weigh the

merits and get all the pros & cons of location size etc.

Need more information just post the "?" and as noted while the BLISS

is yet to be floated and christened you can dream. Your deck 12 location

would be well centered in the ship for the least motion problems.

You did not mention your sailing - Transatlantic - Panama Canal -

Alaska ? Also since you post here on CC when you book your cruise

consider signing onto the Roll Call and get more information and

come Meet & Greet your fellow CC passengers !

All the Best for the New Year !

Would on the same deck as the kids club be too noisy?

The cabins on deck 5 are forward of the Splash Academy and are OV Ocean View and none of these

are directly across or adjacent to the kids club. The lower decks do not see much traffic - EXCEPT -

when embarking and disembarking and tendering although looking at the deck plan for deck 5 it does

not appear that this deck would be used for boarding the ship - deck 6 is more in likely the bet.

The only thing is the families with children passing to get to the kids club maybe noisy ?!

Thanks for the help! We ended up with a deck 12 room. 5 was tempting for the proximity to kids club but it seems like it might end up too noisy. We’re on an August sailing to Alaska. We’d been planning on the first Alaska itinerary but I’ll be glad to have the experiences of people here first (and save a lot from the kids sail free promotion).

5784 looks to be right next to Splash Academy? Is the entrances to all of them right in the middle of the ship? Because there's a whole bank of OV cabins with just the hallway between them and the kids clubs. I wonder how noisy it'll be. On the other side, those cabins are across from blank spaces? With about 3 inside cabins thrown in those blank spaces. Any guesses what those blank spaces are?

Yes hard to tell - 5784 appears to be at the end of a dead end passageway with no connection to the kids club.

The Main Entrance I would guess to be in the vicinity of the Video Arcade.

The Guppies area is for 2 year olds and above.

All the cabins on deck 5 appear to be set up in dead end passageways.

The 4 brown shaded cabins are insides and appear to enter exit away from the kids areas.

There is an awful amount of white blank areas that is no doubt ships engineering areas hidden passageways

crew stairs elevators ship storage.

The main concern is for embarking and disembarking if this level is going to be used for that purpose.

For a ship of this size it does not seem to be adequate.

I really doubt it as the next deck (6) up has all the features of being greeted on embarking.

Regarding my previous post about the cabins forward of the kids club area - 60 some of those are insides and

the rest are ocean view.

The ship has yet to launch don't know what kind of insulation sound proofing is being used in the kids areas.

Not to worry too much the OP booked on deck 12.

I dont' think so - i remember thinking how ultra convenient for families with young kids. If I recall- you walk down a hallway that has no cabins on the Escape to get to the kids club.
