Couple of Extra Days Solo in Miami

I am cruising on the Escape from 2/24-3/3/18 and then on the Jade from 3/5-3/12/18. Therefore, I plan to spend 3/3 and 3/4 in Miami. I am looking for a reasonably priced hotel where I have beach access even if just for walkiing. I need a safe area but don't want to spend a ton on taxis going places. Anyone from the area have recommendations? Thanks

For beach access you need to focus on Miami Beach, preferably South Beach, but your dates are in peak tourist season. What is your budget? :confused: You "reasonable" might be my splurge.

Firstly, we need to know your idea of reasonable.

 

Know early March is PEAK season for Miami and in particular, Miami Beach. Miami is not the place to be cheap as you could end up in some very dangerous areas. Plan on at least $179-$200 per night for a moderate hotel.

 

Download the Uber app. It is cheaper than cabs.

 

South Beach is the best walkable area.

Possibly. Try Hotwire and search for minimum 3* property in these areas:

 

South Beach - Oceanfront Collins

South Beach - Ocean Drive South

South Beach - Ocean Drive North

Central SoBe - Art Deco District

Central SoBe - Convention Center

 

I just plugged in your dates and found a number of 3* - 4* under $200/night base rate. Be sure to check the additional fees (taxes, booking fees, etc.) for the final amount.
