Opinions on casino

For the last 5 years or so I have been lucky enough to get great casino offers - "free" cabins or premier cruises and have tried to take advantage as much as possible. I know that the cruises aren't free - however, prior to getting these great deals, I tried to cruise once a year and spent the same amount in the casino when I was paying full price for the cruise - so, now I cruise more often, but really don't spend more than I would normally spend in gambling.

In reference to whether anyone wins - my sister is very lucky and normally wins at least one big amount every cruse - she won $2400 on a slot on one of our recent cruises - BUT, she typically doesn't come home with any of her winnings because she just loves playing.

I don't spend as much money as my sister, but I have won here and there. Depending on when I win (early or late in the cruise) I don't always bring my winnings home either - I love to bet big when I'm ahead to see if I can get rich (lol). After so many cruises (and after working on cruise ships long, long ago) my favorite form of entertainment is the casino. I don't expect to win and I don't look at is as a loss - I stick with my budget & have a great time.

For those who hate to lose or can't control their spending, it's really very sad (and aggravating) to be playing anywhere near them as they bang on the machines, curse under their breath, and rant on and on about how "tight" the casino is. The casino will always come out ahead - they are a business.

That right there is why I wouldn’t touch one of their slot machines. I know the slots in the U.S. are regulated and have to pay back a certain %...and it’s not a very high %. I bet it’s really bad on a ship.

Good point.

If I do play, I may just stick to table games

it's funny no one posts about losing money, if everyone on CC wins what they say, the casinos would be broke (LOL)

I've never met anyone who's been to a casino and lost money. Or isn't "up overall" since they started gambling years ago. It really is incredible!

And to the OP, the casino is as "lucky" as any other casino. If you play long enough, you will lose. Or you may get lucky and win something. But the odds are, you will lose. If you want to throw an amount into the fire that you aren't afraid of losing, then go have some fun and see if you can hit a jackpot.

I’m down about $1000 over the last three cruises. My daughter is up about the same amount. However, not included in the above, We’ve received three massages, steak dinners, wine, free drink cards, and four bounce back offers.

We play table games.
