Hey, here's an idea...the OP could take grandma, or mother in law as a 3/4 guest and pay her way and use her to be the week long live in maid.

 

a win - win......grandma or MIL gets a free cruise, gets away from home, spends time with the family, keeps busy doing things she loves to do

 

I know you think that's funny, but if my SIL or DD suggested such a thing, they'd be out of the will by the end of the next business day. Yeah, we Grandmother's love nothing better than being someone's maid.... not.

Better yet how about the cruise lines offer a last day packing service. That way we don't have to waste part of the last day packing.

 

Which we accomplish by placing our worn clothing each day in our suitcase(s) stored under the bed so that by the last day we are already 90% packed.

 

We also unpack ourselves when the suitcases are brought to our stateroom - takes about 15 minutes.
