I found a great rate at a good hotel, through Valuetrips. I've never used them before. Is there anything I should know about how it works?

Valuetrips is great, I used them last year and it worked great.

 

Go on line, fill out the form and submit it, you should hear from them if your reservation has been accepted. Timeframe has been long recently, but don't hesitate to contact the if you don't hear from them in 7-10 days.

 

The hotel you receive from valuetrips is the Hyatt Place Convention 17th Street in Ft Lauderdale, great spot. This hotel offers a shuttle from the airport to the hotel for $2/room, a shuttle from the hotel to the pier for 7/person, but an uber would be cheaper as this hotel is close to the pier.

 

They offer a free breakfast the next day and is within walking distance of many restaurants (my favorite is Duffy's), grocery store and Total Wine for any last minute items for your cruise.

 

I learned about this website and and hotel on this site and this is now my go to hotel, you can't go wrong.

We have stayed at other 17th St. hotels several times, but rates are very high for the date I want.

You may want to check the Hyatt website. The valuetrips rate is higher, for the nights we are staying, than Hyatt charges the folks who join their “world of Hyatt” club. It’s free to join. Difference is only about 5.00 per night but you do get immediate confirmation and you can earn points.
