Relaxed dress code on first evening of fly cruise?

joining Britannia in Barbados. I’ll be travelling in scruffy jeans/sweatpants, t-shirt and trainers. Flight arrives 17.00 so I expect the cases won’t arrive in the cabin until much later.

Do they relax the dress code in the MDR to account for that or will we be confined to the buffet?

We always take a change of clothes in our hand luggage, just in case the suitcases are delayed. After such a long day, it's great to have a shower and put on fresh clothes. Having said that, our suitcases have always arrived before dinner, but knowing we are prepared for delays reduces the stress levels. Enjoy your cruise.

Most of the time our cases have arrived before dinner but once they didn’t, so we went to the dining room in what we’d worn on the trip out - jeans, t-shirts and trainers. No problem getting into the dining room and no one questioned our dress, but I felt I needed to mention that out cases hadn’t arrived.

So don’t worry - you can eat in the dining room the first night.

Have a great cruise.
