How To Keep Valuables Safe While On A Beach Excursion?

Recommended Posts

You don't silly gadgets and safes.

Have you people ever been anywhere before.

If every person in your group needs to go into the water at the same time.

Ask the people in the chairs next to you to keep an eye on your stuff.

This is basic stuff...

But what to do if you want to take pictures.. do you leave your phone in one of these locked bags attached to a chair...I know it slows things down, but it also seems that having one of these bags would make it more of a temptation as there would be an assumption there is valuable stuff in there. couldn't someone act like they were just clearing up chairs...or is that being overly cautious??

No way. I would never ask a stranger to watch my stuff. Why should they be trustworthy? You don't know them. And if someone asked me to watch their stuff, again, no. Who wants to be chained to their own chair watching someone's junk while they're off having fun in the ocean? Who knows how long they'll be gone.

The locking bags sound great. I think the idea of dragging a safe to the beach is downright hilarious! I have only done beach excursions leaving from a catamaran or snorkel boat so never had this challenge before as all our valuables stay on the boat.

I leave my phone in a waterproof pouch. Sand can be bad too. I take everything of value with me in the water. Leave my towel and snorkel bag on my chair. Never had a problem. I mention to people near me I'm going in the water. I usally travel to the beach pretty light.
