Bucket of beer?

You used to be able to get the larger cans of Fosters beer as well for the same price- more beer, same cost. I'm not sure if that still applies as we didn't do it on our last cruise.

That's what I did on our last cruise. I loved the craft beer options on the Vista, but for the normal bars around the ship I just got a Foster's. Best bang for your buck. :)

The "B.O.B." option is fine if you plan on moving about and drinking the contents quickly. From my experience, the "bucket" is not filled with ice, unless you ask, nor is there a bottle opener included. (Travel tip: bring a "church key"!)

In the casinos, the BOB is a nuisance, because there is nowhere to "park" the thing conveniently.

Now, if you are with folks helping out with the libations, the .50 cent a per bottle discount may seem worth it.

Just my observation, of course!

My brother always buys the "BOB" and has the exact opposite of what you described. They always had ice and the caps were always taken off. One time he ordered a brand that came in glass bottles. We were on the Lido deck and they had poured the beer into plastic cups. He said they got flat before he could drink all of them.

I think most of the bottled beer has twist off caps on them if they do come capped.
