Alexisal55 Posted February 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Hi Guys, We-my wife and I-are looking to transatlantic from Southampton to New York return. We wish to take in Toronto to Vancouver, including The Canadian train, Cruise Alaska, cruise Caribbean, Shopping New York and Toronto, and possibly Amtrak from New York to New Orleans/Los Angeles. The trip will be in 2020. I shall be 71 and my wife 65 years. Totally flexible on timings and sequence of events as long as they are logical but only proviso is want Canada in snow and need to link up with Transatlantic cruises back to Blighty. Would appreciate any previous experiences and help! Maybe a cruise specialist in UK, familiar with such requests kind regards:D:D
jocap Posted February 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2018 First I'd download all the return trips from NY to S'ton on QM2, so that you have your final trip worked out. If you want to see Canada and Alaska you'll have to cross the Atlantic on QM2 because the repositioning cruises from Europe to USA/Canada will be too late- usually start in Oct, and Alaska cruises will be ending then. Rare MicCanberra Posted February 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2018 That is a wide range of travel to a fair few places located over all or North America. As such, I suggest you pinpoint exactly what is in and out of your scope and the approximate dates for travel. Then get a TA to nut out an itinerary that takes all that in. You can then compare what it would cost if self organised or through the TA.
Rare *Miss G* Posted February 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Okay, you have a 3 month window to do this. If you want Canada in the snow that means December-February, and not guaranteed. Toronto and New York can be bitterly cold December-February. Last cruises to Alaska are in September. BC gets snow but is not as cold. If you want to settle for snow-capped mountains then your plan to visit both coasts could work within the window.
