DonnaMarieNJ Posted February 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Looking for something food-related to bring back from Cozumel. Maybe vanilla, spices, chocolate? Can someone recommend a REPUTABLE store I can go to that's easy to get to? What else can I bring home? No hot sauce (just brought some home from Nassau), but other sauces? I am not interested in liquor or jewelry. THANK YOU!
JohninDC Posted February 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2018 You can buy good Mexican vanilla at most of the tourist stores you'll find on the piers or in town. For something less touristy, and requiring only minimal Spanish, check out the MEGA store.
DonnaMarieNJ Posted February 16, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 16, 2018 I read here on Cruise Critic to AVOID the touristy shops because the quality of the vanilla is questionable.
nascarcruiser Posted February 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2018 You can get vanilla at Mega it will non be questionable. Nor will it be from the tourist shops if you read the label and get it from inside the shop not sitting in the sun. We've done both and the vanilla has been great
DonnaMarieNJ Posted February 17, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Thanks! Is Mega near the port?
iluvvolvo Posted March 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2018 The Mega store is a short taxi ride from the cruise ship. We love going there and trying different things.
