buying OBC

I would like to buy OBC before our trip in July....does holland america have a set exchange rate and if so what is it

OBC is in US $, not sure what currency you are coming from. I believe they use the BOA exchange rates.

thanks for reply we are in australia.....years ago we did a cruise with princess and they had a set exchange rate and it didn't vary....I was wondering if holland america did the same

No, they don't, sadly. The purchase is in U.S. $ and the exchange rate will be whatever it is for your credit card on that particular day.

 

Actually, this is one of the reasons I do buy OBC on line. I can "choose" when to buy depending upon the exchange rate or dollar cost average the exchange rates rather than be subject to whatever the exchange rate is on last day of my cruise when the on board account is charged to my credit card.
