Reserving ticket for Vatican

I have been trying to reserve tickets through the Vatican website and it will not take my payment! I even called my bank to see if they were blocking it, they said no. Has anyone ever had problems with their website? I also had trouble with the Borghese Gallery's website, but was able to go through Paypal. I don't want to pay extra through a third party, but I would like to get my time reserved as there are only two spots open for the guided tour on that day. I go in April. Thanks for any advice in advance!

It has been reported here in the past for various venues including the Vatican.

 

Try using a different browser (Chome, Firefox, IE) and/or a different credit card. (Try different variations -- sometimes it works.)

Sometimes I’ve had problems when using an iPad versus a desk top computer when trying to purchase things. It’s happened a few times.
