jocap Posted February 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2018 That is interesting... we commented on the superior food, so much better than any mid-price ship we've sailed on, last autumn, and were told then that Fred is concentrating on high quality food now. Normally we don't eat every night in the MDR, but on this cruise on Balmoral, the choice and quality was so very, very good that we ate there every night. Now that Balmoral has had a refit, we're looking forward to going with them again in sumer.
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Interesting article, even the ship yards want larger ships. You will have to let us know how your cruise (if you book it) goes.

We've booked for Iceland...she's the 3rd small, old ship we've been on, and the service has been just as good as on any of the great ships- there's less facilities, but usually great entertainment. We've been to ports which are unreachable by the big ships- in fact, when Balmoral says it's going to Paris or Seville, it's not a port an hour away, but she sails up the river to the city! That is very cool to be able to get right up the rivers, etc.
