porthole21 Posted March 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Hello all, Hoping for some help on booking Balcony for Oasis Western Med cruise out of Rome. Is Port or Starboard side Balcony better for pulling into Ports with a view? First ever Med cruise for our 20th anniversary.....
Clarea Posted March 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Oasis normally docks on the starboard side, however that may or may not be "best".

Clarea Posted March 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Thank you as always Bob...What side would you book? I trust your opinion Bob:D:D:D The side would not matter to me, I'd book whichever side had the least expensive acceptable stateroom.

cabarr Posted March 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Agree totally.... We left Canaveral on one side and due o weather conditions on return docked the opposite direction. Docking in Europe many of ports are very industrial Sometimes all you are looking at are trucks and containers! Go for price!!!

mondas42 Posted March 10, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2018 As a Brit, I’ve only ever cruised in Europe, and I have to agree with the other comments. Most of the ports are very industrial and your views may not be that picturesque. Also remember that a lot of ports are not actually near their advertised city, e,g. Rome is actually nowhere near Rome, it’s actually a little town called Civitavecchia, the port is not very pretty. Likewise, Florence is miles away from the port as is Athens etc, so I really wouldn’t worry about which side you are located.
