citizenfrank Posted March 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2018 Hi all. Just about sorted our port days on our pending cruise with the exception of St Thomas. Know there are some great spots to visit, but looking for advise/tips on where for a lazy beach experience with beauty. Where is best? Who do you recommend for transit there and back...taxi or local business? All advise greatfully apreciated. ...Thank you
harleyquinn228 Posted March 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Might be better off posting this in the St. Thomas specific boards. I am also still researching this port, and people have been reporting in every once in a while as they visit!

stargate fan Posted March 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Hi all. Just about sorted our port days on our pending cruise with the exception of St Thomas. Know there are some great spots to visit, but looking for advise/tips on where for a lazy beach experience with beauty. Where is best? Who do you recommend for transit there and back...taxi or local business? All advise greatfully apreciated. ...Thank you We sailed to St. Thomas on 2/25/18. We took a taxi to Magen's Bay. We went early enough that it was not crowded at all. (Crowds came just after 11:00.) The beach was beautiful! The ocean was calm and warm. We took a taxi for $8 pp. We told the people standing around looking for patrons that we wanted an open-air bus. We were on our way in five minutes. (We learned that being directed to a mostly empty bus-taxi can have us sitting and waiting for half an hour while the bus fills with people) Our son and his girlfriend sailed to St. Thomas on 3/5/18. Due to a storm the night before, all the beaches on the Atlantic side of St. Thomas, including Magen's Bay, were closed due to rough seas and debris floating in. Mom Nature can be kind or cruel, depending upon her mood.
Rbmurray210 Posted March 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2018 We always catch a ride to Coki Beach about 40.00 round trip, beach is free but you ha e to rent chairs. Waiters come around take orders, water sport rentals right there as well
PyrHeaven Posted March 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2018 We will also be on the Magic April 7th! :) Last time we did St. Thomas we did a tour with Godfrey Tours. 2 hours of shopping, 2 hours sightseeing, and 2 hours at Magens Bay Beach for $30pp. We liked it because it was a little bit of everything at a great price. This time, I think we will visit Trunk Bay on St. John Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app
GrandmaHofmann Posted March 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2018 We were just there a month ago. Unfortunately, the hurricanes took a toll on the beaches. We made a stop at Magen's Bay and they had just planted a lot of small palm trees to replace the ones knocked down.
LakeWobegon Posted March 13, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Where does Carnival dock? If the same place where NCL does, we went to Sapphire Beach from the pier last year on our own. Just hired a driver along with a few other families we didn't know from the ship and really enjoyed Sapphire. Beautiful view of the other Virgin Islands from the beach. No chairs you can use if I remember right. But GREAT snorkeling and little restaurant/bar/restrooms there.
