Guarantee cabin

Assigned today, 18 days prior. Location upgrade but not class upgrade. Paid 1/3 what that cabin is currently selling for. Not 1/3 LESS. 1/3 of yesterday's fake booking price. Solid location. All good.

Well, here we sit 5 days before our sailing on Ruby RT out of SEA to Alaska and no assignment......Have not booked a G in a long time...it was our only choice in late Jan. as the CAT was sold out except for G. We never received an upsell offer, nor did anyone speak of receiving one on our Roll Call. The ship still is selling...maybe 10 balconies left, just tried a mock booking and it let me precede, so looks like people still can purchase.

I think Alaska & RT out of Seattle are a different animal.....our sailing was sold out a few weeks ago and then all these balconies with cabin numbers become available a week before sailing.....I have often seen IS become available a week before sailing but not balconies.....maybe no one bit on the upsells, so they just gave up..or theyt hold them open for last minute bookings..who knows? we'll see what we are assigned on Saturday.

It’s true that the cabin assignment can be weeks or hours before your embarkation. Our last GTY wasn’t assigned until 2 days before embarkation, so we printed our luggage tags before we left home and whited out the area where Cabin #, etc. is (spent several days in Venice before our cruise). When we were assigned just marked the luggage tags with the proper info. Not a problem.

We are on a cruise out of Southhampton London on May 13th. We do not have our cabin assigned yet we are in a deluxe balcony. When I looked on Monday there was 40 interior cabins available but, everything else was sold out. Now today it shows everything is sold out. I don't think they sold 40 interior cabins in 2 days. I hope this means they are rearranging cabins assignments and we will get a cabin assigned soon

Does anyone know when Guarantee cabins are generally assigned? I see a bunch of folks getting upgrades and upsells (yes, even those who got the super cheap casino rates) on my upcoming sailing, but still no cabin assignment for us less than a month out.

Weird. My cabin assignment magically appeared on day 75 out.
