There is someone trying to organize a slot pull and they are insisting that they MUST withhold 24% of any winnings to cover taxes. I didn't think that sounded correct. The answer to that is...don't join in if that bothers you. I have friends who are Canadian residents and US casinos hold back 30% of the jackpot if they win. I'm not sure if the ship does the same. But somehow I think I recall one of them saying that NCL did do that. Then they have to send in a non-resident tax form with proof from win/loss statements in America to get some of the money back. 24% isn't bad. I am taxed at a higher rate than that. I'm trying to organize one for this March and this would be super helpful! Thank you 🙂 I got your email, I sent it over, good luck with your slot pull! jmulhall9@ Posted February 10, 2020 #53 Share Posted February 10, 2020 Hi from Oz. Im organizing a slot pull and would love a copy of your spreadsheet. My email is jmulhall9@bigpond.com thanks so much for all your help. Do you know as a non US on a NCL cruise, is it okay for me to use my card in the machine or do I still pay the taxes. (if we win ??) Thanks again.
