Bobstam Posted March 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Someone told me that with the Cheers package that you can order a drink that is valued up to $50 a drink, he said that you could order a double or triple shot of liquor and only be charged for 1 drink as long as you stay under the $50 value. Have any of you tried this? Just curious if that is the case. We cruise in December 2018, it will be our first time to have the option to buy the Cheer's drink package as we cruised way back in 2000 & 2002, we bought drink tickets at that time. Qchell Posted March 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2018 From the Cheers FAQ: Ordering a double shot would be considered ordering two drinks, therefore, you cannot order a double shot. I have heard of folks ordering a drink, waiting the 5 min, and then getting a shot to add to it. Best thing to do would be to find a bar tender you like early on, tip a little bit, and then hope that pays off in well poured drinks.
Rare Saint Greg Posted March 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2018 The only time I've seen this was last year on Freedom on a sea day. I ordered a grey goose bloody mary at the casino bar. The bartender told me they had a special on belvedere vodka...extra shot until noon. I told him I was on cheers. He said it was fine. It would be one drink. I had that and then got another just before noon. I haven't heard of this deal since then though.
watermelonqueen99 Posted March 23, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Tip early and often, get to know your bartenders, and then order your spirit of choice "on the rocks." Trust me. ;p
coevan Posted March 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2018 my wife was drinking Patron Margaritas and we were tipping. She had asked for an extra shot, after a day or two he just winked at us and gave her a very nice double pour.

Trust me. ;p Totally agree....to those who don't tip extra maybe give it a shot sometime....and see for yourself if you get better, faster, friendlier service with heavier pours etc...a few bucks can make a big difference to ones bar / drinking experience in their favor..... Lottacruises Posted March 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Is it cheaper to tip heavily or just buy a bottle for your room to add your own extra shots to your drinks?
pulledporky Posted March 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Is it cheaper to tip heavily or just buy a bottle for your room to add your own extra shots to your drinks? “Tip heavily” is certainly subjective ($5 or $25?). All things equal, I think the cheapest shot for shot cost is to buy a bottle for the room.

Jim and Monika Posted March 24, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 24, 2018 If your ship still has a sports bar, they used to feature 2 shot drinks for the price of one, but it was only for certain liquors. I do remember Jack Daniel's being one of them.
