Dress code on shorties?

Our son has finally agreed to come on a cruise with us :) His time off is limited so we are stuck with a 3 nighter. We have chosen Cunard, both to give him a good experience and because I hope it will be less likely to turn into a 'booze cruise'!

 

We have one formal night, of course (and I hope to get a photo of us all in our glad rags) but I am unsure whether a jacket will be required otherwise as I know the dress code is usually relaxed on the first and last nights.

The other nights will be Jacket required, the only time the dress code is relaxed to Jacket optional is on Mediterranean fly cruises.

I hope he enjoys the experience.
