kc58ab Posted April 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Hello I have a couple Carnival gift cards I want to apply to my account for excursions etc. I’ve done it before with balance owed, but now that it’s paid in full I don’t see how to. I see cruise cash, is that the only option prior to being onboard? If so any gotchas on that? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Schoifmom Posted April 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2018 If you want to use it to purchase excursions, just go ahead and purchase them. If you want it applied to your S&S account, it is best to wait until you are on board. You can purchase Cruise Cash, but there is a limit of $500 for each type for the entire cabin. CC is technically non-refundable, but you can use the casino trick to cash out if you need to (only for general CC, not bar or photo).

Guess I’ll add the remainder once onboard. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dsotm73 Posted April 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Yep, you can't add GCs in advance to give your account a credit balance. At least not until you get to the port. But you can use the GCs to pay for purchases online.

wealwayswander Posted April 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2018 I want to make sure I understand the cash out option also. If I add $500 in gift cards to my account and then don't spend it all I can withdraw cash at the casino?

You will have to go to a slot machine, load the amount you want to take out to your players bank by charging your S&S card. Spin at least once (or they will know that you weren't playing). Return the amount to your players bank from the slot machine. Go to the cashier and cash out your players bank. Directions are on every slot machine. I understand there is a chance of winning, but more likely not. How much should someone figure for a "service fee" to use the casino? Thanks:)
