Cruise accounts all linked

Recommended Posts

So I booked an all guys trip last year and we had a great time whole our kids and wives were at home. I had everybody complete the check in along with their personal credit card info. For some reason I expected everybody to have their own accounts by doing that. But didn't seem like the case. Everybody had access to all of the charges made to the room.

We really didn't discover this until the 5th day into the trip when one of the guys who doesn't gamble noticed a significant number of charges on his account. After that we all checked and we all saw it. One of the guys was a bit embarrassed by the amount he charged to his account at the casino.

Is there a way to make each of the accounts private?

It sounds like the accounts should have been private, unless one of the people checked the box that indicated they would be covering the charges for the others.

All I can suggest is to go to Guest Services after you board to confirm you are all on separate accounts.

You have to have each person fill out their set-sail info, with their own payment info. If you can't do that prior to boarding, you can do it at guest services....they can set up each individual account.

I made sure everybody filled out their info with their own credit card. So it was strange that it would still be linked together. It's not a big deal if you're with your family and kids and would be responsible for all the charges. But in situations where friends just want to share a room, this is not ideal. In some cases I would even say there's privacy issues.
