bobandsherry Posted April 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2018 We have cruise booked on Conquest, have balcony room 6284 currently. It was promotional offer and that was the highest deck we could get at the promo price. Received "upgrade" offer for $40 (total) which would now give us choices on Deck 9, 10 or 11. Considering the upgrade as current cabin may have some noise from deck below and looking at deck 11 (1105). However before we do looking for any input on if there's any benefit to Deck 11 (spa deck) or any downside to the room. Or would Panorama deck be better choice (room 1055). Sunquest4me73 Posted April 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2018 We were in a balcony room on floor seven and at night the room rocked a lot - you may want to stick with floor six as I think it would be more rocky going up in floors.
riffatsea Posted April 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Hi, We've been on the Conquest and "rolling " depends on the weather so could be any deck. The problem with Deck 6 is location as it would depend what is under you on deck 5. For me I'd take the Deck 10 cabin as you are right over other cabins and below other cabins and you'd have easy access to the Lido eateries including the BBQ which is right on your same level. I don't think there's any special "spa cabins" on this ship so being on the spa level doesn't give you any special perks.
cruisinqt Posted April 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Definitely move from deck 6. Deck five has the casino, bars, lounges with loud shows, kids center, arcade, etc. We stayed on that deck and hated it. The noise from deck 5 below us kept us up at night. We’ve stayed on decks 9, 10, and 11 before and loved them all. We felt a little more rocking motion at night (not a lot) being higher up and forward but it just rocked us to sleep at night. We loved being so close to the Lido on deck 10 with the pools and buffet. Just take your food to your room and enjoy it on the balcony with a glass of wine. Very relaxing. On deck 11 it’s nice being so close to the spa. It has huge showers, much better than what’s in your cabin.
Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted April 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2018 If we cannot get deck midship 7, we always try for deck nine - LIDO. We have sailed in that location many times, love convenience to food, that it actually has a door toward lido pool entrance that cuts noise, and not much hallway traffic. Locations to avoid- the few rooms that are on either side of ship across the main elevator/atrium area. We found could hear lido music every time glass sliding doors open could hear it as funnels that way, same with atrium music in all decks avoid that location as music comes straight up. So yes, I would take Lido "upgrade" not too far aft or forward though for motion. And yes precious poster said spa locker room showers are nice to use. We are sailing this Sat the Southern route, and plan on a review upon return. Anything in particular anyone wants me to try and research?
kimma11 Posted April 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2018 We were on the Conquest last May in room 1104. I LOVED IT!!! It was so quiet, and the Lido deck was right there. We use the Spa Steam room and sauna quite a bit as they were right next to our room. My son used the spa to shower and get ready since it was so convenient. I would recommend that floor to anyone. bobandsherry Posted April 26, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted April 26, 2018 Thanks all for the comments. Our current room on deck 6 is above the Fun Shops, but just a few rooms away from the Skybox and therefore Casino. PVP said it would be relatively quiet (he's very knowledgeable on the deck plans on the Conquest). but that was taking the room that was the best of what's left. The rocking on higher decks is what was a concern if moved to 11, but small number of rooms and no traffic at night is appealing. Lido looked nice for access to the pool, et al, but not sure about all the passing traffic.

Any issues with those on Deck 12 being able to look over to your balcony. I thought I recall seeing something a while back about Conquest and Deck 11 balconies not having a roof area. CruisingBeans Posted April 28, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 28, 2018 We stayed in 6260 and 6264 on Conquest in February. Room was quiet, not a lot of foot traffic, easy to get off at ports as closest stairs and elevator went to correct deck. I do prefer lido deck but our cruise was windy and a little rocky. It didn’t bother me at night on deck 6. Have a great cruise!
cruisedrew Posted April 28, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Deck 11 balcony room Carnival Conquest! :) about a minute in, I pan camera up from balcony!! Room 1110 Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Tiger0613 Posted April 28, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 28, 2018 My mom and dad stayed in 6282 back in 2008. My mom doesn't remember any noise in particular. What she does remember is their nosy neighbor looking around the partition. I don't think you would hear any noise from the shops when they are closed at night. I could be wrong. I wasn't on that cruise.
CJHAN Posted April 28, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 28, 2018 The only benefit to the spa deck other than the Spa is that it's always quiet up there. Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app

Room 1110 Sent from my iPhone using Forums That was perfect to show the balcony, even saw the guy on 12 looking over into the balcony area. With no over hang to block the peepers or sun I think we'll pass on that deck. Thanks for sharing.
bobandsherry Posted April 30, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Lido Deck balconies are the best. We were looking at those but looking for room on port side. Those cabins available are near the atrium and elevators. Thinking that area may be noisy due to people taking elevators for breakfast and band playing in atrium/lobby echoing up. riffatsea Posted April 30, 2018 #17 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Being near elevators for us has never been a problem! In fact it's where we try to book. The atrium is another issue. I am trying to remember if it was on the Conquest where they closed the main doors to the hallway to keep sound out at night?? Otherwise we are early to bed and the noise in that area has never bothered us.

We are currently on the Conquest in a balcony just forward of the front elevators and you can hear and feel the shows in the theater at night, and when they practice in the late afternoon. Your current cabin is near the elevators which means more traffic/noise, and near the atrium entertainment, so some sound at night with the atrium music might be heard!
