Southampton Port To Southampton Airport?

Advice needed-- Is it feasible to be at the Southampton airport for a 9 a.m. flight from the Royal Princess which docks in Southampton early morning? Is a taxi the most efficient way to get to the airport?

It will take about 30-35 mins by cab to the airport, quicker if its a weekend. As long as its 'be there' by 9 and not a 9am flight, shouldn't be a problem if you do 'walk off'.

PS I'm sure I just read your post as 'be there by 9am'. Now it says 9am flight...am I going bonkers or have you changed it? Now depends on check in time reqd by the airline. If you can get off first (usually about 7am), you should still get to the airport by 8am if that suits.

Thanks Simon--I posted this for my girlfriend who does indeed need to make a 9:00 flight. She hopees to be the first off the ship with self-embarkation and then quickly get a cab. Sounds like it will be close even if everything goes smoothly. Good advice to have her check with the airline about latest check-in time.

Southampton is a small airport...I assume she is just flying in the UK or to Europe, so you can sometimes get away with 30 mins before flight, but best to check with the airline.

What destination? ("Domestic" is destinations in the UK or Republic of Ireland)

With hold luggage, or just cabin bag?

What date? (more particularly, what day-of-the-week?)
