Can they, yes.

Will they, probably not. Fire hazard among other things.

Ask your cabin steward, it might happen but do not bet on it.

 

thank you. They did it for us on Princess 2 years ago. Our cabin stewards simply tied a rope around it to keep it open.

I will be on the NCL Gem in October. We have side by side Penthouse Aft Suites. My question is ... can they open the partitions between our balconies so we can go back and forth? Thank you.

Don’t think that there is a partition there.
