Reservations for shows is common on megaships across the cruise lines. You can go standby for any show. You are allowed in 10 minutes prior to the start of the show and can take any seat that no one else wanted (Pro Tip: stay to the left side of the theater and you may get unused Haven Suite seats). Here's the math. The two Broadway shows (Havana and Jersey Boys) play 4 shows each. The theater holds 800 passengers. That's 3200 seats (4x800). The ship, when full, will have 4400ish passengers. So,,, like the life boats on the Titanic, there are not be enough seats for everyone.
