Heard the mosquitos on Half Moon Cay are plenty and out for blood, true?

A couple of weeks ago we were in Skagway in a temperate rain forest. It was 44 degrees out and there were mosquitos everywhere. Imagine my surprise...

 

And they were probably the size of hummingbirds - seems everything in Alaska grows oversize!

Was at HMC four days ago and can tell you with certainty that they were voracious at the buffet area. Not the actual buffet itself but the nearby seating areas.

We live in Mosquito country in Canada and this rivaled our worst part of the season.

On the beach and near the tender area there were none.
