erdoran Posted May 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2018 I think I get 10% discount on excursions if I wait till I sail to book them? Any risk of sellouts? We're in the Haven, so are we pretty much good if we book first night through concierge? Thanks in advance. (plus the variety is overwhelming, hoping to get some info to sort them all out!) zqvol Posted May 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2018 In AK there is definitely a chance of excursions selling out, and the concierge cannot do anything to help in those cases. What you can do is book the excursion now, an after you board the ship stop by the excursion desk and they wll reprice your excursion and give you your refund as a credit on your account. Rare BirdTravels Posted May 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2018 There are no onboard discounts. There are no pre-booking discounts. Popular excursions will sell out. If there are no seats on the bus, train, or plane, the concierge can't do anything for you.
erdoran Posted May 25, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted May 25, 2018 Isn’t there a latitudes discount?
zqvol Posted May 25, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2018 Isn’t there a latitudes discount? There is a latitudes discount. Silver, Gold and Platinum get 10% off shore excursions. Higher levels get 15% off. They will give you credit for it at the shore excursion desk. Note: The discounts are accurate as of the date and time of this post. Rare BirdTravels Posted May 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2018 Isn’t there a latitudes discount? You are correct. You can get a latitudes discount pre-cruise or onboard. I was talking more about RCCL that will send you a 30% discount off shore excursion email about once every 15 hours from they day you book to the day you sail. kitkat343 Posted May 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2018 The ports in Alaska are very small. We saved a lot by just booking directly with the companies, and were generally able to walk to the excursions. Temsco is the subcontractor for the helicopter to dogsled excursion. If you book them, try to book in Skagway, not Juneau since the weather is a bit more stable there. And book as early as possible - if the weather is poor, they can try to squeeze you in later in the day if the weather clears up and there is room. We also really liked the Bering Sea tour. erdoran Posted May 26, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted May 26, 2018 Do I also get the $50/port credit from NCL's free at sea if I prebook?
Rare BirdTravels Posted May 26, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2018 Do I also get the $50/port credit from NCL's free at sea if I prebook? Yes. You book online and get an OBC onboard. We always call the ShoreEx promotion number so we defer payment until we are onboard. Then, the credit goes to paying for the excursions. Shore excursion credit can only be redeemed by calling 1-866-625-1167 or booking onboard. For the guests that book their excursions online; they are charged full retail for the excursions and the discount will be applied onboard in the form of a credit to their onboard account.
