If we do a back to back cruise what happens when it comes to the end of first cruise. Do we just stay on the ship or do we need to get off.? We have the same cabin for both cruises. Thanks guys.

In most ports you have to get off the ship and go through customs and immigration. You can then get right back on or stay in port and explore.

On Elation in Jacksonville this January however if we were using a passport we just had to fill out a customs declaration. Carnival filed it with CBP and we were able to stay on the ship without getting off to go through customs and immigration.

Thank you. The cruise is from San Juan. I don't mind getting off the ship, but we can just leave all of our stuff in the room can't we?

We did a B2B on the Breeze out of Miami and received a letter in our room telling us to be in the dining room at 10:00AM. At that point you sit with all the other B2Bers until you are all escorted off the ship. We were taken to were you pick up your luggage and all stood in a line while customs did their job. After that you are let right back on the ship. Once we were escorted off the ship it was maybe 15 minutes before getting back on. I hope this helps. Enjoy your B2B we really loved being able to do it once. You have time to do everything on the ship you want and still have time to just take a nap whenever you want.

What happened to us is that we were asked to leave with our property, and reboard when called. We did, however, have a different cabin.

That shouldn’t have happened. Even if you don’t have the same room, you shouldn’t have to debark and embark again with the general public. Your steward is supposed to arrange getting your luggage to your next room, and you should be led off, brought through customs, and led right back on again.

yes, you just meet up with the rest of the b2b cruisers(you'll receive a letter in your cabin usually the day before telling you when, where)!

At this meet up with fellow b2b cruisers, you'll get your new room cards, then when the ship is cleared, you will walk off ship together, border control will check your passports.

Then you walk back on the ship where they'll take a picture of everyone together taking the b2b, (which you'll receive in your cabin in a couple days for free) and get offered a free glass of champagne.

After the picture you are free to go anywhere on the ship.

We've done two B2B and have a third planned. I didn't see it mentioned, but check with Guest Services to be sure you are on the B2B list. Also, while it might not be the norm, we also received a Welcome Back fruit basket with champagne on the second leg both times. The first time we had to change rooms. We spoke with our steward about how to handle that. He told us to pack our toiletries and the things in drawers, everything else was left for him to move. We also met with our soon-to-be steward and he said everything would be handled, and it was. After the photo op, we headed to our cabin and found a "Welcome Back" sign on the mirror. All of our things, including the items in the fridge, were moved, our clothes were hanging in the closets.

Generally you will be required to disembark after all other passengers, go through immigration, and then immediately reboard. You will meet somewhere on the ship and be escorted through this process by a Carnival employee. If you are in the same cabin, you can leave everything on the ship. They will put a letter in your cabin near the end of your first cruise detailing the procedure.

Just one more bit of advice, During cruise 1 stop by guest services and make sure you are on their B2B list. One time we were not.
