elruth Posted June 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2018 Booked this for Aug 4th cruise. I know the mini- suite has an uncovered balcony but are there certain times of the day when one wouldn't be in the full sun? We're on the port side.

In the winter, if you are headed east in the northern hemisphere, then there will be some shade on the port side mini suites.

You are sailing SE to St. Maarten and then NW back to Fort Lauderdale. On your first sea day you should get some morning sun. On your last two sea days you should get afternoon sun. On port days it all depends how the ship is anchored or docked. In early August the noon sun is pretty much directly overhead at these latitudes.
