World Cup Games on Carnival?

Both Carnival and Princess are owned by CCL, right? Broadcasting rights would be acquired by the parent company. If Princess is telecasting the games and not the other cruise lines under CCL, that's even more of a shame. Personally, I'm glad I'm not sailing right now. It wouldn't even have occurred to me that Carnival wouldn't be showing the games, you just assume that for a sporting event of the magnitude of the World Cup, the games would be shown 100%.

if you follow sports at all you would know USA did not qualify, first time since 1986

I follow sports. I’m a NFL, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, and NAHL season ticket holder. I don’t follow soccer.

I am so surprised that Carnival won't be broadcasting the World Cup games live. It's only the biggest sporting event in the world! Wonder if RCL or NCL are showing the games..

IIRC Carnival was not able to get rights to the World Series either. It sounds like the problem may be FOX.

Well I'm home and we could watch games in the sports bar on Sunshine. Limited seating so if we watched, we got there early to get a seat.

Were you able to watch the games that were shown on both FS1 and Fox?

I can’t speak to the World Cup specifically...but I’ll throw out that they had FS1 in the red frog pub on Breeze in March.

Sorry - I'm not sure. My son only watched a few matches and he didn't say.

On our Glory sailing, we watched in the sports bar. Caveat: the sports bar is open noon to midnight on sea days, and not while in port. When we stopped in Grand Cayman, for example, the bar opened at 3, when we sailed. Considering that most of the games are early in the day, that meant that we could only watch on sea days. As always, ymmv.
