WisCruiser2 Posted June 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Caribe balconies on Emerald (& sister ships) are the best! Deep balcony that is half covered, with a high table. We always book that deck if we can on those ships. What kind of view are you looking for? Sent from my SM-G930R6 using Forums mobile app
piescruises Posted June 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2018 I have only cruised on ruby on higher decks and that seems like a good choice but the only problem you have to worry about is people looking into your cabin. I see you've sailed on crown princess so you'll be fairly familiar with the ship.

Yes, good view. Although IMO, the best scenic and wildlife Alaska views are from the open public decks above where you can move around. Enjoy. culvercitycruiser Posted June 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2018 (edited) I have sailed on the Caribe Balcony twice. I love it. I do not care if people from above can see me. I am not doing anything bad. I like the extra big balcony. The table size allows you to enjoy breakfast out there. There are foot rests that go along with the chairs. I am spoiled now with these balconies. I have two upcoming cruises with Caribe balconies. Below is a link to the Caribe balcony photos from a similar ship https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-BthcK4/i-CcDnTXz/A Edited June 13, 2018 by culvercitycruiser proofing
CDay Posted June 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Travelling to Alaska first time to alaska B1 C414 is it a good cabin is it covered and do you get a good view.. You will get your best view from a B4 balcony. 180 degrees and the balcony's are huge. :)
skynight Posted June 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2018 Travelling to Alaska first time to alaska B1 C414 is it a good cabin is it covered and do you get a good view.. Nice cabin, nice mid ship location, balcony is 9' x 9' of which 5 ' is covered and 4' uncovered. No one can look into your cabin as was mentioned by another poster. Someone on deck 11 just above could look over their railing straight down and see you if you are standing by the railing. This isn't a very big issue. In my opinion the best scenic views are not from a cabin's balcony, but from the upper open decks where you can move around for 360 degree vistas. From the open decks you can also react to any sightings announced from the bridge or by other passengers.

culvercitycruiser Posted June 26, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I am new to Princess and plan to select a balcony. How do I know I am selecting a Caribe balcony or a B or C balcony?? Caribe is Deck 10 Depending on where the location is on the ship (forward, aft, etc) Deck 10 is where you want to be if you like big balconies. Grammyluvs Posted July 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2018 We have had Caribe deck 423 on the Emerald. Love it. Partially covered, so you get the best of both worlds. I sure miss it on the newer ships.
mtdnk Posted August 26, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2018 We are booked in C426 Emerald Princess for Hawaii this October. Anyone been assigned to this cabin? Thoughts??
floridalover5623 Posted August 26, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 26, 2018 The best thing about the Caribe decks for an Alaskan cruise is that they're partially covered so you can still sit outside even if it's raining. :)
