Hi, we are catching a cruise out of Port of Miami Feb 2nd, need a hotel that is close to the port, preferably under $200, any suggestions? With free shuttle to the port? Thanks:cool::cool::cool::cool: :cool:

If you stay close to the Port Of Miami “free” shuttles are rarely provided as a short cab ride gets you there. I would check some of the sites such as hotels.com to see if there is anything in your price range.

The closest hotels to PortMiami that offer "stay and cruise" packages that include a shuttle to the port are the two Hilton properties (Hilton Downtown or Doubletree Biscayne Bay) about a mile north of the port in the Omni district. But for your dates they will run close to $300 per night. In February $200 will at best get you a spartan 2-star hotel near the airport, though some will offer port shuttles for a fee.

Addendum: looks like you need to get cracking on a decision if you wish to stay downtown (and adjust your budget accordingly). The Hilton has no "cruise" rates for Feb 1, the Doubletree and Holiday Inn Port of Miami (which is right across the street from the port but offers no "cruise packages") both show sold out Feb 1. The least expensive hotels in Brickell (a couple miles south of the port, an easy cab or Uber ride away) are also pushing $300 for your date.

Forget the "free" shuttles - find a hotel that meets your needs and book your own transport. $200 will be tough for a FEB cruise out of Miami, that's peak tourist season. Flying into MIA or FLL? Hotels near FLL are generally cheaper than comparable properties in Miami.

Holiday Inn Port Of Miami is a 3 star perfectly adequate hotel for one night pre-cruise. Yes, a bit outdated but clean, staff has always been friendly and it's a $12 cab ride to the port. Our latest booking for a king harbor view was under $200, we pre-paid for breakfast (again adequate)in their cafe which pushed it right to $200. Bayside Marketplace is directly across the street with shopping and several restaurants with water views. Used this place quite a few times for a one nighter and never had a problem.
