A BC ferry traveling from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.

We head down to the room to get ready for Dinner. I look out the window and the scenery has changed. There are tons of ships. We turn on the TV to the Navigation channel and see we have made a U turn. They then announce we have turned back to Vancouver for a medical evacuation by boat. It took almost an hour and a half before we headed back out.

Meanwhile we had dinner reservations for Moderno!

After the show, I met Susan in the room. We got ready for bed and crashed after our first fun filled day.

We set an alarm for 630 as she wanted to do morning stretches and I wanted morning photos. We let the sea slowly rock us into a blissful slumber.

I am going to stop here for the night. I hope you all are enjoying it so far! Till tomorrow!

Matthew --

Fantastic so far. We feel like we are on our way with you. Can't wait until our trip in September! We've previously done the Southbound w/ Princess... Now it's time to do the Northbound w/ NCL...

Cheers -- Von

Woke up with the alarm at 6:30 am. Susan was going to go to morning stretching and fab abs.

Here is the fitness schedule for the week.

While she was getting ready, I was looking out the window of our oceanview. I was seeing where we were, the weather, and if there was anything to see. I saw my first whale, which was my motivation to get out of the room to go up on the open decks. Sorry, no pictures of that whale.

Finally getting dressed, I headed up to deck 7 to head aft on the open deck.

I would tend to walk down the starboard side of the boat. Smokers would smoke on the port side.

The air was crisp and clean. The temperature just right!

Looking down deck 7. See the lights? They replaced the old light fixtures on embarkation day, and these ones were LED's. They really made a difference.

Once to the aft elevators, I would duck inside and take the elevator up to deck 12. Then head out to Great Outdoors.

It was at this time I heard a voice say, "Are you Shadowmeboy?" I turned and said yes. He introduced himself, Jeff, Cruise critic member jskinsd. Jeff and I started talking about Alaska and about how my review from 2016 and the Sun was awesome. I thanked him. We chatted as I took photos and just appreciated nature.

Jeff, It was awesome meeting you in person. We had some awesome talks all week long. I hope this review lives up to the quality of the last one, in your eyes! - Matthew
