Sundiego Posted July 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2018 We have a Seaside Yacht Club booked in December. I'm trying to decide on a flight out of Miami on departure day. I'm not really clear on whether YC disembark is faster than other categories. We are not doing a speedy "self walk off" with luggage meaning we have to pick up our luggage in the big luggage room before we exit the building. We are TSA pre-check and will probably Uber to the airport. My choices are 12:15pm departure out of Miami or 1:30pm. Does 12:15 sound too early? Thanks! ~Denise
TrinaLC Posted July 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2018 12:15 should be fine. A butler will walk you off when you are ready. YC luggage is placed way up front, so you will be directed to kelp walking past others getting their luggage. The line for customs splits in 2. The left line as I recall moves much quicker. But if it were me, and price etc. being equal, I’d take the second flight, have a leisurely breakfast and coffee in the YC lounge. But we are doing a b2b and have a long travel day to the west coast so we want to get an early start :)
Rare missthesea Posted July 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Either time is ok. We were in YC on Seaside for the June 9 sailing and disembarkation was pretty smooth. Some advice: zero your account out before going to leave the ship. We had a positive balance, and even though the otherwise great YC concierge told us it would just be refunded to our credit card, we were not allowed to disembark before waiting in line again to get a refund. Also, we usually Uber, but this terminal is new and the Uber pick up area was confusing to find - causing one angry driver who left us to get a cab! Have a great cruise! We do have a lot of OBC and not sure how we'll use it, but don't want to have to stand in line the last day.
NotATaylor Posted July 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2018 We walked off just before 8:00am and were outside by about 8:10-15. My flight departed Miami at 11:55am and I was at the airport before 9:00. We walked our luggage off but the other 4 people in our group didn’t and their luggage was already in the pickup area. It is a little confusing, and maybe things will change before you cruise. I’ve read that the easiest way to cash out any remaining OBC is to get casino chips and then turn around and cash those in. (The casino, theatre and gelato are the main reasons to leave the YC anyway!). Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Does the butler walk you to the front of the customs line? We cruised in a suite on RCCL and the Concierge walked us right up to a customs agent bypassing the whole line. He'll walk you to the ship's security checkpoint right before you leave. From there, you've got a pretty long walk to customs, including down a single escalator that keeps the line moving pretty slow. YC Bags are all the way up and around the corner, so you do get to avoid a part of the customs line. Left line is much quicker as it enters the customs hall much sooner than the right lane does, so unless right is considerably shorter, stay left. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Refund due I understand. However, if you have a balance to pay? Isn't that why they have your credit card on file?
