Nice welcome email from Captain on Seaside

We've sailed quite a bit on other cruise lines. We always get the obligatory 'buy/sign-up emails' for a few weeks/months out. But today we got a nice, long welcome aboard from the Captain. First time that has ever happened to us for any cruise. I took this as a nice touch that MSC is really lining up marketing and operations. They even got our matched MSC status right in the email, which is savvy contact marketing. I will definitely mention this to the Captain when we meet him. We sail this Saturday on Seaside.

I don't remember getting a welcome aboard letter, but we DID get a nice photo of the Cruise Critic meet and mingle event that had a personal, handwritten message from Captain Massa on the back. I thought that was a nice touch!

It depends on the captain; MSC have their very best, most friendly captains on US sailings as they go all out to woo the American market. Nothing like that happens for non-US sailings!
