some_body Posted July 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2018 Could someone confirm I have not missed any fine print? Looking at the go big / better options for Aug 4 on the Equinox. Among all the options, I can add either prepaid gratuities or $300 OBC. The increase to the cruise price is $210 (exactly the amount of gratuities). Seems like a no-brainer to take the $300, and use the $90 leftover for "whatever".
Bo1953 Posted July 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2018 Yes, the only time it works out better for PPG's is when they are included for longer sailings. bon voyage
snyniew Posted July 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2018 I've done that in the past since even paying the extra I'm still coming out ahead. It sometimes makes sense to do it but not always you you really need to pay attention to the price to upgrade vs what you are getting in return. some_body Posted July 9, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted July 9, 2018 Wonderful. Nice to know the only "free" lunch isn't at the cafe!
BlueLobster Posted July 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2018 Or just upgrade to go best and get all 4 perks, plus the upgrade to the premium beverage package - it the price makes sense!

Mark, that’s exactly what I did for our upcoming cruise. TA was running a sale so upgrading was only $300. Even w/ the cancellation fee I came out way ahead. Good thing I’m a numbers person.
