san diego sue Posted July 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2018 I am interested specifically in Caribe Deck aft facing cabin (we know about soot problems). Are they covered, interested in C740 an C742. Also how about aft facing on Dolphin deck These are Deluxe Premium balconies. I have seen the photos of rear balconies but can't tell from that. We just booked on Caribe deck but may want to change to Dolphin(has larger baclonies) Thank you.
john_galt Posted July 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2018 Partially covered. I'd move to Dolphin for the extra balcony space.
san diego sue Posted July 18, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Thanks John. I know on other ships the Caribe deck is part covered, part uncovered. We have been on the Royal on Caribe a couple of times and the side facing balconies are all covered but very small. Do you know how much cover those small aft facing balconies actually have on the Royal. Anyone stay in those cabins ? C740 and C742?
reedprincess Posted July 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Move to Dolphin as the balconies are deeper. Bith Caribe and Dolphin are partially covered as the aft section is tiered. Spot issues - we were on Caribe in an aft suite, didn't really have any issues. Room attendant either kept it really clean, or else there really weren't any issues.. The Dolphin deck suite below us had a much larger balcony!
san diego sue Posted July 18, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 So my travel agent called Princess and they actually have a schematic and had the answers. Caribe cabins on the aft I asked about are not covered. Decided to move to a deluxe balcony cabin side facing. Will deal with the small balcony . Just wanted it to be covered .Thanks for your help.
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted July 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2018 We had D730 on the Regal three years ago. Great cabin with a large partially covered balcony.
john_galt Posted July 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2018 I've avoided the Royal class ships because of the tiny balconies. I finally gave up and booked an aft PH on Dolphin for the Sky Princess Inaugural Getaway.
rockdoctor Posted July 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2018 B and D are part covered. We found soot on one day of a three week cruise on B deck.
