Lamanai boat tour

My family and I are going to Belize city and looking at excursions. I'm interested in the lamanai tour but many of the reviews said it was a lot of walking. 1 review said 6 miles??!! Does anyone know exactly how far? I'll have my 7 year old and trying to figure out if she can handle it

It was a short leisurely walk in the forest from the dock on the river. Maybe they meant to say that the boat ride was 6 miles or they confused it with the Tikal ruins in Guatemala.

 

Could it be that the access point from the parking lot is farther away from the ruins? I am assuming there is road access.
