Rare Dolcevita Diva Posted April 9, 2023 #16653 Share Posted April 9, 2023 Happy Easter! Lirio Posted April 9, 2023 #16663 Share Posted April 9, 2023 A day at the Museums in Sao Paulo: Ipiranga (about our independence 200 years on 2022 and about the bandeiras I mentioned yesterday), Pinacoteca (modern art) and Lingua portuguesa (portuguese language). The pictures show the front of Ipiranga Museum, 2 main Bandeirantes, the Ipiranga Museum yards, a scupture and a picture from Pincoteca and vase from the Portuguese Language Museum. One thing that I like form the last musuem is a room where um listen to several languages from around the world like a babel tower, impossible to show on a picture. 5

Beautiful sunrise service at the beach, although it was disconcerting when the pastor began his sermon discussing sharks and the opening sequence of the movie Jaws… Our minister this am did not mention sharks or the Jaws movie. Nor, did we have your excellent beach sunrise setting. Ours was a more traditional service to Celebrate Easter. Here are two pictures from at our service this morning featuring a cross with daffodils placed individually by congregation members on the cross at the front of the sanctuary. The daffodils came from our yard areas. In the Spring, we have about 10K+ dafs, etc., that come up. Beautiful, perfect sunny Spring day here in Columbus. Like?? THANKS! Enjoy! Rare jpalbny Posted April 9, 2023 #16666 Share Posted April 9, 2023 Enjoying the tour of Brazil, @Lirio! Our only visit to your country was a brief crossing from Iguazú to Iguaçu so we could see Las Cataratas from both countries. Would like to visit again! We had a nice relaxing weekend. The weather was cool but the sunshine was plentiful, so it felt very warm. Yesterday afternoon we took a walk by the Hudson and saw some wildlife. A scraggly deer who needs to finish losing its winter coat. And a bald eagle nest! Occupied! Closer to home, our old lady cat enjoyed the sunshine in her own way. Today the weather was even nicer. So we got adventurous and jogged most of the way along the river path. The eagle's nest was still occupied. We had seen a pair of bald eagles flying around our neighborhood two weeks ago so we're thinking it's the same pair with this nest. After the long jog we were hungry, so Easter dinner was soon underway. Grilled spiced duck breast with a blackberry and balsamic reduction. Chris made the salad. Very artistic. And dinner was served with a Finger Lakes Cabernet Franc which has been aging in the cellar for just such an occasion. While we ate, I browned the duck bones on the grill and now they are in the instant pot, cooking down into a rich broth for later. We are soaking our tired legs in the hot tub! Happy Easter and Happy Spring to all!

Our major experience there was sailing a thousand miles up the Amazon to Manaus and back. Wonderful, fun memories on the Silver Cloud with only 179 passengers for this great journey. Will be having Veal Francaise at home this evening from our favorite local Italian dining place. It is lightly breaded veal with sauteed mushrooms and green beans over pasta in a lemon butter garlic sauce. Also, had to re-stock our New Zealand wines. Below are some that I got this past week. Love Sauvignon Blanc wines that we enjoyed when visiting there in early 2020 before Covid shut us down. Most of these wines are in the reasonable and moderate price level, but still nice in quality. Would like some Cloudy Bay, but at $30 a bottle, that brand is a little too high for my budget-focused mind. Here is an Osprey visiting near our backyard patio yesterday afternoon. THANKS! Enjoy! It's less than $10 a bottle and goes well in almost any season. When there's a $2-3 rebate per bottle, we buy a case. Cloudy Bay goes for $25.95 a bottle at our local discounter. We're cheap too, so we don't splurge for it.
QueSeraSera Posted April 9, 2023 #16671 Share Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) Cloudy Bay too steep here too. matua & nobilo satisfy our house needs for NZ sb. That said, we just enjoyed an outstanding sb from the pacific Northwest: $17 but we found it lovely & worth the small premium for a holiday: Bowhead Columbia Valley Question now is what to open next 🙂 Edited April 9, 2023 by QueSeraSera for fun

In our state, we can get at most stores a 10% discount when buying six or more bottles at one time. Those six (or more) can be mixed. Does not have to be all the same brands/types. You are not "cheap" by avoiding certain very good, higher-priced wines. Just being "smart" and economical!! Especially as there are many excellent, lower cost Sauvignon Blanc wines available. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
