Labadee Cabana on Nellie beach

I reserved my first cabana and I thought it was a over the water cabana on Nellies beach. I am sailing on the Harmony in December.

I re looked at my reservation and it is a beach cabana. It would be $170 more for a over the water cabana. I was hoping for cabana #4 so the kids could dive into the water.

I originally wanted a cabana on Columbus Cove but they are sold out for $260. There is 6 of us. (4 adults and 8 year old twins) The kids would like to play in the water park too, which is near Nellies beach- so it all worked out. -- Well except for the diving part:o

I am worried that the beach cabanas would be crowded out with beach chairs totally negating that privacy feel .

What are your thoughts on the beach cabanas on Nellie beach. The price on sale was $355. Not sure if I want to pay more. I also read on CC that the cabana attendant gives you more than 2 floats if you need it. And I also read that they escort you to the buffet. Not sure if that is old information though.

Can someone please give me the skinny? Why would the cabanas on Nellie beach cost more than on Columbus cove? Especially since they are both ' on the beach'? I wonder if I should save money, cancel the cabana just find a chair somewhere in the shade. Is there anywhere else the kids can jump into the water safely? Should I consider booking a beach bed instead on adrenaline beach? That beach has more waves per CC and maybe that will interest the kids as well.

This is what I thought I was booking:halo:

Is this what a beach cabana looks like?

We have had a beach cabana on Nellies beach several times. There is a low yellow wall that separates your area from the rest of the beach. It was just a short way to the water. Adrenaline Beach is rocky and not really good for swimming especially with children.

Thank You!!

Did you prefer a cabana on Nellie's beach as suppose to on Columbus beach? Did you feel it was worth it? Did Nellies beach get really crowded. How were you assigned your cabana? Were you able to choose before you arrived at Labadee?

There are only Beach bungalows at Columbus cove, not cabanas. The water is not deep enough from the over the water cabanas to dive in. We arrived at the beach first to request the cabana we wanted.

Ah that might be the price difference. What is the difference between the two?

We splurged a few years ago for a cabana at Nellies for just my wife and I. Looked forward to a relaxing retreat. I think it was #5. Definitely not a dive platform for me. I easily bottomed out feet first.

Unfortunately, our cabana was basically ruined by 'neighbors' one cabana down that thought the whole place was their private party pad. Loud rank music and loud drunks. Attendant would do nothing as I think this crowd is a regular and does this often. I asked them to turn it down repeatedly and they would for a few minutes before it was back up again. Not able to relax at all. We went back to the ship early and enjoyed our balcony. That bunch of yahoos felt like they were the only ones there that mattered and ruined it for the other cabanas. Disappointed that it was allowed.

Only positive is that we got to hear if Billy liked John, and who was hooking up with whom. Lots of really 'pleasant' language and conversations.

I know this is not the norm, but it totally ruined cabanas for me.

Never had a cabana at Columbus beach so can’t help you. Nellies can get crowded but if you get there early, you can find a good spot. We were assigned and didn’t get to choose, I suppose that we could have had a choice but didn’t ask.
